I feel like giving u things

In the performance I feel like giving u things, dancer Maya Oliva and sound maker Atte Kantonen craft a map of fragmented gestures and accents in which different memories and associations transform an unfamiliar setting into a place of belonging.

The memory of Milly, Maya’s childhood dog, is the conduit for this exploration. Just as a familiar scent can transport us, Milly’s abstract presence prompts questions like Where is home? and How can a foreign place become home? Echoes of the past spark memories, linking the present to what was once known; sensory cues intersect, building clumps of recognition and familiarity. Through collisions of sound and gesture, Maya and Atte take us on a journey between the abstract and the concrete, creating a mosaic of fragments where new connections emerge.

Like a map of converging paths, I feel like giving u things sparks associations that dance within us and remind us that home can be found in the unlikeliest places.
