Etsiikö teosideasi tai työryhmäsi kotia? Kaipaatko tukea jollekin pienelle ja hapuilevalle tai osatuottajaa spektaakkelillesi? Hae Circus Maximuksen ohjelmistoon vuodelle 2022!
Circus Maximus on tilaton teatteri ja näyttämö ilman näyttämöä. Se on teatteri, joka leviää rihmaston tavoin ja kääntää tilattomuuden voimavaraksi. Circus Maximus toimii laaja-alaisesti koko esittävän taiteen kentällä ja tukee myös poikkitaiteellisia tai muille kuin esittävän taiteen aloille ulottuvia projekteja. Ohjelmistossamme esittävää taidetta voivat olla kaikki kuviteltavissa olevat teosmuodot näyttämöteoksista paikkasidonnaisiin installaatioihin ja esineisiin. Tärkeintä ohjelmistossamme on uutta luova ja tuntematonta kohti kurottava ilmaisu, monimuotoisuus ja kaikenlaisten ihmisten ja eläjien kokoaminen yhteen taiteen äärelle.
Circus Maximus toimii ohjelmistonsa teosten osatuottajana. Toiminta-avustuksistamme riippuen jaamme ohjelmistollemme yhteensä n. 15 000 € rahallista tukea. Ohjelmiston kokonaisrahoitus ja teoskohtaiset tukisummat varmistuvat helmikuussa 2022 rahoittajiemme tukipäätösten selvitessä. Ohjelmistokuraattorit päättävät, miten monen teoksen kesken ohjelmiston tukisumma jaetaan. Rahallisen tuen lisäksi Circus Maximus tarjoaa ohjelmistonsa teoksille tuotannollista tukea teoksen tarpeiden mukaan ja teatterin resurssien puitteissa.
Circus Maximuksen vuoden 2022 ohjelmiston kuratoivat tanssitaiteilija Esete Sutinen ja taiteilijafilosofi M.K. Baijukya. Teatterin edustajana kuratointitiimissä toimii tanssitaiteilija ja tuottaja Riikka Lakea. Ohjelmistohaku on auki 20.5.-30.6.2021. Tieto kaikille hakijoille ohjelmistovalinnan tuloksista ilmoitetaan syyskuun ensimmäisellä viikolla, eli viimeistään 5.9.2021.
Hakemusta varten pyydämme lähettämään pdf-muotoisen tiiviin työsuunnitelman rahoitussuunnitelmineen ja budjetteineen (yht. maks. 3 A4-sivua) osoitteeseen info@circusmaximus.fi. Halutessasi voit lähettää myös oman tai työryhmäsi ansioluettelot tai portfolion sekä kuvaliitteen (maks. 7 kuvaa). Circus Maximuksen ohjelmistossa oleminen edellyttää yhdistyksen jäsenyyttä ainakin yhdeltä työryhmän jäseneltä. Jos et ole yhdistyksen jäsen, voit liittää myös vapaamuotoisen jäsenhakemuksesi ohjelmistohakemukseesi.

Are you looking for a home for your future artwork or for developing your artistic idea? Would you need support for something that’s brewing or are you in need of a co-producer for your spectacle? Apply to be part of Circus Maximus’s 2022 programme!
Circus Maximus is a spaceless theatre and a stage without a stage. It is a theatre that spreads out like a network of roots and turns its nomadism into a resource. Circus Maximus operates extensively in the field of the performing arts and supports interdisciplinary works and projects that do not necessarily situate themselves within the performing arts. In Circus Maximus by performing arts we mean all kinds of imaginable forms of performance, from stage works to site-specific installations and objects. What is valued most is creative expression that reaches beyond the known, multiplicity in all possible forms and art as a possibility of bringing together people and ways of living.
Circus Maximus co-produces the works in its annual programme. Depending on our operational grants, we will provide a total of approximately € 15,000 in financial support for our curated programme. The total funding for the programme and the amount of support per work will be confirmed in February 2022 when the funding decisions for our operational grants are confirmed. The curators of the 2022 programme decide how many works are chosen and how the amount is divided between the chosen working groups. In addition to financial support, Circus Maximus provides production support for the works in its programme according to the needs of the work and the resources of the theatre.
Circus Maximus’s 2022 programme will be curated by dance artist Esete Sutinen and artist philosopher M. K. Baijukya. Dance artist and producer Riikka Lakea joins the curatorial group as representative of the theatre. The application period is open 20.5.-30.6.2021. Information on the results of the selection will be announced to all applicants in the first week of September, no later than 5.9.2021.
In order to apply, please send us a concise plan in pdf format including funding plans and a budget (max. 3 A4 pages in total) to info@circusmaximus.fi. If you wish, you can also send your own or your working groups CVs or portfolios and visuals related to your project (max. 7 images). To take part in Circus Maximus’s programme, the association requires at least one member of the working group to be a member of the association. If you are not a member of the association you are warmly welcome to apply. You can do this by attaching your informal membership application to your programme application. A short description of yourself and of your interest in joining Circus Maximus is sufficient for the membership application.
